Original Signed Mose Tolliver Outsider Art Folk Art Painting (Bill Traylor Inspired)
Mose Tolliver, was an African American Artist. He was known as Mose T, after the signature on his paintings were signed with a backwards S. His paintings fall into what is known as the Outsider Art genre, or Folk Art.
Mose Tolliver, started painting in the late 60s, due to being confined to his home, because of a job-related accident, which left him with limited mobility to his legs. Unable to stand without crutches, he would sit on his bed to paint, balancing whatever material he used to paint on. Tolliver began to create images with house paint on pieces of Plywood, Masonite, Old Furniture, and even Paneling from the wall.
This particular painting is painted on Paneling. It measures 17 1/2 x 11 , and is in good Vintage condition, with minor chips or flakes.
