Up for sale is this antique, framed watercolor painting by the listed California artist, Elizabeth Hoen. Please excuse the glare in the photos. In an impressionist style, this painting depicts a California landscape of mountains, trees, and wildflowers (poppies and lupines). The sight area within the mat borders measures approximately 9 inches by 11 1/2 inches. The painting is matted and framed under glass. The exterior frame dimensions are approximately 14 15/16 inches by 17 15/15 inches. The frame is an antique, gold-finished, carved wooden frame. Unpacked, this item weighs 2 pounds 9.7 ounces. This would make a beautiful addition to a collection of early California art.
Identification
This circa 1901 watercolor painting is by the well-known California artist, Elizabeth Hoen (1868-1955). Hoen is listed on askART, and in Hughes Artists in California 1786-1940. Per askART, Hoen was born in Santa Rosa, California in 1868 to a pioneering California family. Her father was Berthold Hoen, who started a trading post in the Carillo adobe, the first building in the Sonoma Valley. Her father also helped to survey and plan the city of Santa Rosa. Elizabeth Hoen was a student of Lorenzo P. Latimer. She had a studio in Los Angeles. In 1917, she exhibited at the San Francisco Art Association. Hoen passed away in Santa Rosa in 1955.
Condition
The painting looks very good overall. There are a few tiny dark dots to the mat. There are a couple of tiny, brown dots to the painting, but these may be watercolor paint. The frame has light wear, and the gold finish on the edges was touched-up. There are small chips to two of the rear corners of the frame. The back side is as shown. 1. Payments

Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made.
2. Shipping
Good packaging is included; double-boxing is not necessarily included. Framed art will not be shipped unframed. The seller usually ships on Mondays and Thursdays. The merchandise will normally be shipped on the seller s next shipping day after payment clears. The seller is not responsible for the transit time once the merchandise has been accepted by the shipping carrier.
Shipping includes delivery to a physical address via a method of the seller s choice. If the buyer prefers a different shipping method other than that chosen by the seller, or if delivery is to a post office box, additional shipping costs may be required. At the seller s discretion, a signature may be required for delivery.
Shipping quotes must be requested prior to all international bidding or buying. For international shipping, there may be parcel size restrictions or prohibitions on certain classes of merchandise. Customs forms will not be falsified.
