ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Borimchuk Mikhail Petrovich (1926 – 2013) Ukrainian painter. Mikhail Petrovich Borimchuk was born on November 20, 1926 at the Popelnya station in the Zhytomyr region. Since 1944 he studied at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv Art School, from which he graduated with honors in 1947. From 1947 to 1954 he studied at the Kiev State Art Institute. Teachers – V.Kostetsky, I.Shtilman, K.Eleva, G.Melikhov. Mikhail Borimchuk s thesis work Spill on the Dnieper was rated excellent . Since 1951 – a participant of republican, all-Union and international art exhibitions. Member of the Union of Artists of the Ukrainian SSR since 1967. He worked in the field of easel painting. Master of genre paintings, landscapes and portraits. In 1954-1956 he worked as an artist in the Museum-Reserve of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. From 1956 until his retirement, he worked in the Kiev branch of the Artistic Fund of the Ukrainian SSR. Borimchuk s works are presented in gallery and private collections in Ukraine, the Netherlands, Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the USA, Canada, Australia and other countries.
