ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Kolosov Valentin Osipovich Born on March 28, 1928, in the village of Nizhny Chulym (now the Novosibirsk region). He graduated from the Kharkov Military Aviation School of Navigators (1947), studied at an art studio at the Metallurgists Palace of Culture, the city of Guryevsk (Kemerovo Region, Russian Federation, 1948-1950); Art Studio of the Association of Artists in Kyiv (1958). Specialty teachers: K. Lukonin. Painter, sculptor. Author of landscapes and portraits in a realistic style, sculptural busts. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (1985). He worked as an artist in the management clubs of the Amur Railway (the city of Svobodny, Amur Region, Russian Federation, 1948-1949), Gornyakov (Guryevsk, 1949-1950), the Rivne Association of Artists (1951) and the art fund department (since 1964). Executive secretary of the Rivne organization of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (1986-1996). Participated in exhibitions: regional, republican, all-Union and international (since 1955). Personal exhibitions – in Rivne (1976, 1980, 1982, 1985-1986, 1988). Main works: painting – Rivne Hedgehog (1957), Blue House (1959), T. Shevchenko (1964), Polish motive (1969), T. Shevchenko in Ostroh” (1972), “Major Zhitnikov” (1977), “Near an Unfamiliar Village” (1978), “A. Pashnin, Holder of Three Orders of Glory” (1984), “L. Kravtsov (1987), On the River (1991), There is Shmorgun , Over the Case (1993), In Memory of Heroes (1994), Flax Blooms (1995), Didukh (1997), BUT. Vozianov (1998), Velvet Season (late 1990s), Palm Sunday (2001); bust – M. Prikhodko (1970), G. Ponomarenko (1979), Lesya Ukrainka (1982), a memorial plaque to pilot-cosmonaut A. Makarov (1981). The works are stored in the Rivne Museum of Local Lore. Lived and worked in the city of Rivne, died November 23, 2004. Died in 2004.
