This is a vibrant and colorful RARE Vintage Mid Century Modern Brazilian Abstract Oil Painting on canvas, mounted on Masonite board, by Brazilian female Modernist painter Eliane Borges. This work depicts an abstracted still life of papayas, with small birds surrounding them. An artist s label on the verso reads: By Eliane Borges Sao Jose dos Campos [S. Paolo] 1967. This work is rendered in lovely hues of yellow, and green, and has a striking presence in any room. Early Brazilian modern art is quite rare, and this piece would be a great addition to any Latin American art collection. Approximately 23 1/4 x 30 3/4 inches (including frame.) Very good condition for age, with some light scuffing to the original period frame. Acquired from a private collection in Los Angeles, California.
