Description

Winner receives an unsigned oil on artist board painting by well listed American artist Allen Dean Cochran (1888-1971). Although unsigned, we guaranteed the authenticity 100% or your money back including return shipping, as this piece (along with the others we have listed by Cochran) were exhibited at the Paradox Art Gallery in Woodstock, NY along with Covington Art Gallery in Tucson, AZ.

The painting depicts an upstate New York wooded landscape with a creek. The piece retains its original frame, and we would date the piece to around 1920-1940 (as some of the other pieces we have from the same collection are dated). The painting is wonderfully executed and a fine example of Cochran s work. The painting is in exquisite original condition with no damage whatsoever to mention. There are no rips, tears, repairs, staining, foxing, toning, in-painting, or any other damage. The original frame is also in excellent condition with no major damage, but shows light wear, consistent with its age. The painting can be hanged with confidence as-is. The frame measures roughly

19.5 x 15.5 , with the image measuring roughly

15.5 x 11.5 . This piece, along with the others we have listed were purchased in 1987 at Saugerties Auction Services, who was responsible for selling part of the Cochran Estate.

Included with the painting, will be a photocopy of the letter showing the authentication from Saugerties Auction Services in 1987 (seen in pictures 8 and 9) along with a

photocopy of an exhibition advertisement from Covington Art Gallery, Tucson, AZ where this painting along with the others we have offered were exhibited
