Description
The Art of DAVID KING STUDIO
STYLE. Painting loosely, big brush strokes, swipes from the palette knife, and bold color all combine to create energy and an image much more lively and interesting than faithful reproduction of reality. Bottom line my style can be called representational but impressionistic, occasionally bordering on the abstract.
SUBJECT: These little scenes of rural decay dot the countryside along the back roads of northern Utah. This little hay shed is slowly falling back to earth with a large tree looming up behind it. My guess is when this little structure was built the tree was very small, assuming it even existed at all and now it s about to overwhelm it. Did this little building outlive it s usefulness? Why was this structure abandoned?
QUALITY: I use only archival, artist quality materials in making my paintings. You can rest assured your original painting is one of a kind and will last generations. I affix and seal a label to the back of each painting detailing the size, medium and title of the painting as well as including my signature.
Statement: I ve lived in northern Utah most of my life and enjoy exploring the landscape here especially the mountains and rural areas. I stick to the back roads looking for scenes that harken back to a simpler time and hike the mountains heeding the call of nature. In particular I love the abstract shapes of trees and especially when they interact with the geometric shapes of man made objects such as barns, trucks and tractors.
