A.R. Levasseur is a contemporary artist from Carmel, California. Most of Levasseur s work has been shown there, some internationally as well. Levasseur does not sell works for mass production, each piece is individual and the only one of its kind. Levasseur studied abroad and has European classical influences evident in this piece.

Levasseur stated that inspiration for this piece, Spring Rain, came when Levasseur wanted desperately to go outside and enjoy spring but the El Nino storm of 2002 prevented anyone from taking their spring strolls. Being trapped indoors was something Levasseur dreaded but at the same time, its when the best works were achieved.
