Please be patient with me as I work to paint, photograph, list for sale and package our little attempts at making the walls a better place to live (for our eyes) . My wife Carmen helps me a lot as do a couple of the kids (grown but not forgotten!) The smaller paintings are often studio or life studies and oil sketches and though they are pretty snazzy in their own right, they are not the same as the larger more developed easel paintings. That said, let me know if you’re interested in commissioning a larger version of this or any other painting. I’m glad to do it. Prices start at around $1.25 per square inch of canvas…- Mil Gracias!!
IMPORTANT, PLEASE READ! Many of my paintings have thick paint and can take a while to cure completely. I will ship oil paint when it is dry to the touch so be careful when handling new paintings. The thick passages may still be a bit soft. Do not worry…with a few weeks cure time the paint will stiffen and the new aroma of natural walnut oil will fade completely.
Also, please be aware that my paintings are meant to be viewed FRAMED. As fantastical as they may be and as pleased as you might be with your winning of my unframed little masterpiece be aware that the magnitude of your ocular felicity will increase exponentially as soon as you see the painting framed. They are best viewed and enjoyed with a simple profile dark or gold leafed plein air or craftsman style frame like the one pictured. The colors, drawing and composition of the artwork will all stand out and come together in a most pleasing-to-the-eye fashion when once framed. Enjoyment of any given painting will increase greatly when viewed while FRAMED at eye level on any wall. I strongly suggest having a frame ready for its first viewing or … drive the unopened package directly to your favorite frame shop without anyone ever seeing the painting in its naked state.

This painting was made in the studio. I typically work from reference images such as past paintings, studies painted from life or photographs. I have done quite a bit of painting “en plein air” but mostly I paint in the studio creating works that are either inspired by references mentioned above or from the many fond and indelible recollections of the 4000 plus paintings I’ve made over the past 38 years .
